Our Story

We are a family run restaurant operating over 30 years.

It all started with specialised “Kushiage” Japanese restaurant in 1991 called GINZA ISOMURA, a franchise from Ginza in Tokyo.

In 2001, the owner Yoshihiro Yura has reopened it as 2 sister restaurants, Kabuki Shoroku Japan Restaurant and Sakuratei Japanese Restaurant across the corridor from each other.

Led by Akiko Yura, Sakuratei Japanese Restaurant is known to the Sydneysiders as a hidden gem in the Sydney CBD, an oasis escape from their office life.

We serve casual lunch during the day and Izakaya style dinner by night. Takeaway is available throughout the day.

Our speciality is still the famous “Kushiage”.
